About Me.
When I first tried therapy, it was at a time when I felt like I was at a dead-end and I was desperate for any kind of help I could get. Therapy showed me what it was like to have an unbiased support system.
“Having a safe space, a place to help me make sense of things and give words to thoughts and feelings I didn’t know how to talk about was transformative.”
After a while, I thought it would be pretty amazing to help someone in the way I was helped, and here I am.
I also noticed that finding therapists of colour was quite a bit harder than finding Caucasian therapists. Because of my lived experience as a first-generation Indo-Canadian cis-female, recognizing this gap in service made it important to me to provide a service that supported clients who were noticing a similar disparity in representation.
My practice is rooted in person-centered, anti-oppressive values which means that you are the center of all of our sessions.
We’ll take a team approach where we will co-create something that works for you. I’ll do my best to create an environment where you can feel comfortable enough to have uncomfortable conversations.
Becoming aware of our patterns of thought, emotions, and habits, and of why these patterns came to be can be empowering and a catalyst for change. We will co-create a space where you can feel safe enough to voice your truths and gain awareness of how your current difficulties connect to past experiences. With this knowledge, we can move toward updating the strategies that have been operating unconsciously and work toward creating strategies that better align with what you need in your present.

I use a trauma-informed, integrative approach which means that I pull from a variety of therapeutic modalities to tailor something that will fit you specifically.
The modalities I pull from include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion/Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
You’ll also hear me use parts language which might sound like “it seems like one part of you feels sad while another part of you feels angry which is leading to some internal conflict. Let’s get to know these parts of you”. I find that parts language helps us process emotions, thoughts, physical reactions, and behaviours in a deep, holistic way and can also help us piece apart what can feel like internal chaos. In using this approach, we can work on giving you the tools you need to better connect with and within yourself as well with your world and the people you care about.
